it's the way it is. The way you cope with it
makes the difference."

I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. As a Veteran Military spouse of 20 years, I have had my fair share of challenges. These experiences lead me to the helping profession, with a desire to support others during difficult times.
As a counselor, I specialize in working with adolescents and women who are struggling to cope with a trauma or loss they've experienced, depression or anxiety symptoms, self-identity concerns, separation anxiety, transitioning after retirement, and being an empty nester.  As a retired Veteran Military spouse I have personal experience with military family conflict due to deployment, separation, and post retirement transition.

Each client has their own way of expressing themselves and managing stress so my approach is to meet them where they are as a starting point for the counseling process.  I walk beside my clients, empowering them to face each challenge one at a time; one day at a time.  My experience has taught me that we all struggle to make sense of the chaos we call “life” however, I believe that the counseling relationship offers hope to those willing to participate.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping and being outside taking in the South Carolina sun.  My outlook towards life is that mistakes are meant to be learning opportunities; the only limits we have are the ones we impose on ourselves.

I have worked in the mental health field  for more than 10 years.  I am a National Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Licensed Addictions Counselor in the State of South Carolina.  I have extensive specialty training in Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing Therapy.  I am also a Marriage Prepare-Enrich Facilitator for married couples and couples preparing for marriage.
